Text Shortcuts Explained:
- Text Shortcuts are interactive templates designed for use when creating your Consultation Notes, which include the Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan sections.
- You can create Text Shortcuts tailored to each section of the consultation note. These shortcuts can be created directly within the Consultation Notes.
- For a visual walkthrough, refer to the accompanying video tutorial.
- When selecting a Text Shortcut, you can distinguish shared shortcuts from your personal ones—shared shortcuts will display the word “Shared” in a dark blue rectangle.

Creating Text Shortcuts (Profile Dropdown)
- Select Text Shortcuts from your profile dropdown in the top right hand corner.
- Click the ‘+ New text shortcut’ button
- Select the Shortcut Type from the dropdown on the popup that appears
- Enter the Shortcut name.
- Create the shortcut in the provided textbox.
- You can also utilize the textbox options to create tables.
- Set the Department you want to assign it to and Save.

- By default, it is set to All Departments.

- This takes the user back to the My Text Shortcuts page, and the template is seen in the table with the status Not approved for use by others, but you can use it even if it is not approved.

Approving a Template
- A Clinic Admin or Clinic Admin Plus can approve the template by selecting the Approve button to the right of the template they want to approve in the table.
Using Text Shortcuts (Consultation Notes)
- Select the tag icon for the respective section (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, or Plan) of the consultation note to access or create text shortcuts. Examples of shortcuts you can make are Chief Complaint, HPI, and ROS for Subjective, which you can make as one shortcut instead of three separate ones.
- Utilize [ ] when creating your Text Shortcuts for quick documentation when you have selected a text shortcut while creating your notes.
